Bad Boy Sparta was purchased from The Fasig Tipton Midlantic December '09 Mixed Sale by Bob O for Renpher Stable, Hip # 317. http://www.fasigtipton.com/catalogs/2009/1207/317.pdf He was purchased unraced as a 2yo going on 3. BBS is a son of Grand Slam out of a Grade 1 Winner, Minstrella. Minstrella, by The Minstrel, raced 5 times as a 2yo winning 4, with 1 second. Three of those wins were Grade 1 wins at 6 furlongs on the turf. She was a champion 2yo in Ireland. Minstrella has produced multiple graded stakes winners including Colonial Minstrel. Colonial Minstrel earned over $550k and she herself has produced stakes winners. One of which is a son of Grand Slam. BBS is presently in training at a facility 1 mile east of Penn National Race Track. We hope to have him ready to race by spring 2010. He is impeccably bred and well worth the chance we took at auction.
