Diamond Solitaire

Diamond Solitaire was claimed by Renpher Stable, 4/5/07.

A lot of people thought we were nuts for claiming her. Stickler insisted we take her and we did.

Diamond was tiring in sprints. It wasn't because she is a quitter. It's because the pace, on the front end, of a sprint was too much for her. Stickler felt if we stretched her out we could have a little success. As training progressed. we had trouble finding a race for her to go long. Finally a mile race came up for her. Unfortunately, it was an Allowance race. She ran well holding on for 4th. Not bad for a $4k claim.

In her next start it was a different story. She was back in for $4k. Clifton aboard, got the lead. The first quarter told the story. Clifton had a ton of horse left heading for home. He peeked back a few times, but no one was there. Diamond drew clear to an easy win. She won by seven plus lengths.

Diamond eventually injured herself and was retired as a broodmare.
