Intersembrador September 29, 2006
|
Intersembrador was a graded stakes horse on the turf in Argentina,
in 2004. He won a Grade II Sprint on the grass, and ran 6th by 7, in
the prestigious Estrellas Sprint, a Grade 1 event in Argentina. He was
off for two years and sold to a group of owners in NY. They ran him
for $65k at Aqueduct, where he showed speed, went 4 wide and tired.
They tried him right back in a $100k claiming turf event. Again he was
outclassed. The connections decided to geld the horse. They brought
him back for $25k at Belmont. He needed the race, showed speed and tired.
They felt enough was enough. He shipped to Delaware, where he was entered
against Sir Socrates in a N1Y sprint. We felt Soc was in deep as the
race drew an unusually classy field. Soc ran a fast closing 4th, Intersembrador
won from 7th to first. We had a good look at him in the paddock, and
watched how he came back after the race.
