Sam's Sixteenth

On Wednesday, March 21, 2007, Sam was claimed away by Scott Lake after making her record 20th Renpher Stable start. We will miss her consistency of 20% win, 60% in the money!

Sam is currently on a two race winning streak! Winning on 9/5/06 then right back again on 9/20!

Sam was claimed on 8/24/05. She ran second that day marking two seconds in a row against similiar fields. Most of the horses in the field had won the NJ Bred A1X. Sam still possessed the lucrative condition.

Out of a Holy Bull mare, by an Alydar sire, Sam has hit the board 13 of 20 starts, winning 4 times.

Sam ran a solid second on 10/28/05, in Allowance company.

On 11/12/05, Sam was cutting back to a sprint off a nice effort last time out going long. We would have liked the race to be 6 furlongs but we took what was offerred at 5 1/2. As it turns out, the extra 1/16th would have been huge. For those of you who did not see the race live at Penn Nat'l, you did not see the race at all. Sam was practically never on the screen. Cora let her break at her own pace. As I watched the race unfold, she was dead last after 3/8ths. We didn't find out until after the race that Sam stopped running early because she was getting hit in the face with a ton of dirt and didn't like it at all. At the top of the stretch, she was still off the screen, dead last. Once she got clear, she was flying! She finished fastest of all 4th.
